Packing Tips You’ve Never Heard Before
Living out of a carry-on isn’t unusual for trendsetters, and with so much practice packing under their belts, we figured there’s a trick or two they’ve picked up along the way.
Lay Everything Flat
Try to put all my clothes laying flat—no folding, just laying flat—on one side, and then shoes and toiletries on the other side.
Always Make Room for Heels
Always pack a pair of heels because you never know if something might pop up [or] if you’re going to go out. Always make sure the color is black or nude because it goes with anything and everything. Even if you put it with a pair of jeans, you know you’re good.
Use Airtight Compression Bags
Use air-sealed bags that pack the clothes in. Those really help to pack more in your suitcase.
Don’t Pack Your Coat
It sucks to travel in the winter because you have to bring a big jacket. But you can always choose to wear your biggest stuff on the plane so that you don’t have to put that in the bag, and you get more space.
Stick With Black
Pack black, and then travel so light because nobody really notices when it’s dirty so you can just wear it over and over again.
Pack in a Specific Order
Go through phases with my packing. Start with jackets, then pants, dresses, and then put the tops and the sweaters, lingerie, and then shoes.
